If you created a new application, it will automatically be set to use the latest version of the Square production API. If you are using an existing application, it is recommended that it be set to use the latest version of the Square production API for security and functionality purposes. You will need to enter these two keys in your <a href=\"https:\/\/help.fooevents.com\/docs\/topics\/point-of-sale\/plugin-settings\/\">FooEvents POS plugin settings<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-133651\" src=\"https:\/\/help.fooevents.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/square_application_production_credentials.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"949\" height=\"623\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/help.fooevents.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/square_application_production_credentials.png 949w, https:\/\/help.fooevents.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/square_application_production_credentials-300x197.png 300w, https:\/\/help.fooevents.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/square_application_production_credentials-768x504.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 949px) 100vw, 949px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Next, select the <b>Point of Sale API<\/b> menu option and ensure that you still have the <b>Production<\/b> tab selected.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"square-sandbox\">Square Sandbox<\/h3>\n<p><b>FooEvents POS<\/b>\u00a0makes use of the <b>Square Point of Sale API<\/b> in order to send payment requests to your Square account.<\/p>\n<p><b>Please note:<\/b> The Point of Sale API is not currently supported by the Square Sandbox environment. From the <b>Production<\/b> tab, click on the \u201cWebhooks\u201d menu item to expand its submenu. Under <b>Square Integration<\/b>, paste your <b>Application ID<\/b> and <b>Access Token<\/b>, then <b>save your settings<\/b> and you\u2019re good to go!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-133657\" src=\"https:\/\/help.fooevents.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/square_integration_settings-1024x388.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"388\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/help.fooevents.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/square_integration_settings-1024x388.png 1024w, https:\/\/help.fooevents.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/square_integration_settings-300x114.png 300w, https:\/\/help.fooevents.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/square_integration_settings-768x291.png 768w, https:\/\/help.fooevents.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/square_integration_settings.png 1420w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"pairing-a-square-terminal\">Pairing a Square Terminal<\/h3>\n<p>In order to process a payment at checkout using a <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3G0hgB3\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Square Terminal<\/a>, you will need to pair a Terminal device with <b>FooEvents POS<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>In order to pair a Terminal device with <b>FooEvents POS<\/b>, open the <b>FooEvents POS<\/b><b>\u00a0Settings<\/b> screen and scroll down to <b>Square Settings<\/b>. Here you can select which Square location should be associated with the device that <b>FooEvents POS<\/b>\u00a0is running on. For instructions on how to setup more than one Square location, please read the <a href=\"https:\/\/squareup.com\/help\/us\/en\/article\/5580-manage-multiple-locations-with-square\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Manage Multiple Locations with Square<\/a> help documentation.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-133658\" src=\"https:\/\/help.fooevents.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/square_location-1024x439.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"439\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/help.fooevents.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/square_location-1024x439.png 1024w, https:\/\/help.fooevents.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/square_location-300x129.png 300w, https:\/\/help.fooevents.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/square_location-768x329.png 768w, https:\/\/help.fooevents.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/square_location.png 1382w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Next, you will need to sign into the Terminal using a <b>device code<\/b> that will be generated in <b>FooEvents POS<\/b>. Click on the \u201c<b>Generate Code<\/b>\u201d button to generate a new device code. Once the code has been generated, you will only have <b>5 minutes<\/b> to sign into the Terminal before the device code expires, in which case, you will need to generate a new code and re-attempt the pairing process.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-133659\" src=\"https:\/\/help.fooevents.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/square_pair_device_code.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"948\" height=\"400\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/help.fooevents.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/square_pair_device_code.png 948w, https:\/\/help.fooevents.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/square_pair_device_code-300x127.png 300w, https:\/\/help.fooevents.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/square_pair_device_code-768x324.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 948px) 100vw, 948px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Once you enter the device code and the Terminal has loaded, the <b>Square Settings<\/b> in the <strong>FooEvents POS<\/strong><strong>\u00a0app<\/strong> will update to show that it has paired with the device successfully.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-133660\" src=\"https:\/\/help.fooevents.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/square_paired-1024x452.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"452\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/help.fooevents.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/square_paired-1024x452.png 1024w, https:\/\/help.fooevents.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/square_paired-300x132.png 300w, https:\/\/help.fooevents.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/square_paired-768x339.png 768w, https:\/\/help.fooevents.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/square_paired.png 1410w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After successfully pairing a device, <strong>FooEvents POS<\/strong>\u00a0will remember the unique device identifier when capturing payments until the device is specifically <b>unpaired<\/b>. This means that you can pair the same device to multiple <strong>FooEvents POS<\/strong><strong>\u00a0apps<\/strong> by following the instructions above.<\/p>\n<p>In order to enter a new device code on the Square Terminal which was generated by a different <strong>FooEvents POS<\/strong><strong>\u00a0app<\/strong>, you must sign-out of the paired device while leaving the <strong>FooEvents POS <\/strong><strong>app<\/strong> in its <b>paired<\/b> state. To <b>sign-out<\/b> of the paired <b>Square Terminal<\/b>, swipe on the device from the far left side of the screen to display the slide-out menu, tap <b>Settings<\/b> and then tap the <b>Sign Out<\/b> button which will return the device to the login screen. You can then choose to sign-in again using the new device code.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"unpairing-a-square-terminal\">Unpairing a Square Terminal<\/h3>\n<p>If <b>FooEvents POS<\/b>\u00a0is paired with a specific <b>Square Terminal<\/b> and you would like to pair it with a different device or change the Square location that <b>FooEvents POS<\/b>\u00a0is associating with the paired device, you will first need to tap the <b>Unpair<\/b> button to unpair the device in order to choose a different location and generate a new device code. To <b>sign-out<\/b> of the paired <b>Square Terminal<\/b>, swipe on the device from the far left side of the screen to show the slide-out menu, tap <b>Settings<\/b> and then tap the <b>Sign Out<\/b> button which will return the device to the login screen. Follow the prompts on the <b>Square Terminal<\/b> in order to process the payment. The Square transaction will be linked to your WooCommerce order. If you open the completed order on the <b>Orders<\/b> screen, you will see the payment method highlighted if Square was used to process the payment. If the transaction contained <b>split tenders<\/b> or the <b>refund failed<\/b> for some unknown reason, the order status is changed to <b>Refunded<\/b> in WooCommerce and an <b>error message<\/b> is displayed that allows you to view the transaction and refund the payment manually through your Square account.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Please note:<\/strong><\/span> Refunding an order that was originally placed online (ie. not through FooEvents POS) or manually through the <strong>WooCommerce<\/strong> back-end <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">will not<\/span> automatically refund the <strong>Square payment<\/strong>.
