Both companies started around the same time, both were founded in South Africa, and both decided that putting “Foo” in front of things was apparently a very good idea. Great minds think alike.
Because of this, people sometimes confuse FooEvents and FooPlugins or assume that we are part of the same group. We are not, but there is no awkward rivalry here. We have met the team from FooPlugins, and they are a great team. We consider them friends in the WordPress space.
